Day 1CUSCO – PISPITAYOC BIKING (optional river rafting)

Travelers will be picked up between 6:30 and 7:00 am. We will then head to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will pass through picturesque villages and beautiful landscapes.
After arriving at Ollantaytambo, we will take a break before continuing on by bus for 1 hour to reach the Abra Malaga around 11:00 am. (4350 masl).
From here, we will depart on bikes, descending for 3 hrs. We will pass through rural villages, rivers, orchards, and streams before reaching Huamanmarca around 1:30 pm.
Later, a private bus will take the group to a city called Santa Maria. (30 minutes)
After lunch and a short break you have the option to do river rafting. If you decide to go, we will raft for 2 hrs, always accompanied by a professional kayak instructor that will take care of the passengers all the time.
Those that didn’t book the rafting tour, will go with an assistant guide on our private bus for 20 min to the next city, Santa Rosa. Thereafter we will walk for 45 min until arriving at the lodge, La Choza. The bus will be waiting for those that went rafting and they will be taken to Santa Rosa to walk for approximately 45 min to join the rest of the group at the lodge, located in a village called Pispitayoc (lunch-dinner).

Day 2PISPITAYOC (Ecolodge) – SANTA TERESA (Trekking)

After enjoying an outdoor breakfast, we will walk along the riverbanks and hike up for 30 min. Along the way, we will see small coffee plantations and fruit trees. In this area, it is possible to see many types of orchids, and birds, as we will be in the high forest, a paradise of biodiversity on the Inca jungle route.
After arriving at the top of the mountain we will see the whole valley of Urubamba.
The group will descend for 2.5 hrs to the village of Qellomayo. Lunch will be served here. After a break, we will trek for 3 hrs through farms, rivers and waterfalls until arriving at the hot springs of Santa Teresa.
We will take a break and later the group will continue walking for 40 min until reaching the city of Santa Teresa, where we will sleep in a local house (breakfast-lunch-dinner).

DAY 3SANTA TERESA – AGUAS CALIENTES (Zipline and Hiking)

After breakfast at 7:00 am we will explore the roads less traveled.
From the city of Santa Teresa, travelers that reserved in advance will do the zipline (to later be taken by bus to the Hydroelectric), and the rest of the group will continue hiking for about 3 hrs to the Hydroelectric, where the whole group will meet up.
Here we will have a delicious lunch. After a break, the journey will continue along the Inca jungle for 3 hours, traversing through waterfalls and coca and coffee farms until arriving at the city of Aguas Calientes. The group will be taken to the hostel around 4:00 pm.
At night, we will get together to have a delicious dinner and a briefing about the trek to Machu Picchu (breakfast-lunch-dinner).

Day 4AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO (walking up to visit the sanctuary)

After passing the control entrance around 6:00 am the private guide will tour you around the site for 2 hours. Later you will be free to explore Machu Picchu on your own. The passengers that reserved the hiking to Huayna Picchu will embark on their adventure for about 2.5 hrs.
The path is very steep at some points but it’s worth it. This trek is not recommended for people that suffer from dizziness. In the afternoon the group will descend to Aguas Calientes to rest or to buy souvenirs until the train departs, at 9:30 pm, to Ollantaytambo.
